Site - Coordinator
will most likely be a split shift (Example: 6:45 am to 9:00 am and 3:30 pm to 6:15pm)

The site coordinator is responsible for ensuring that their specific site runs smoothly. This site coordinator is the direct contact for all employees at his/her assigned site, and will communicate all concerns with the directors, where applicable. The site coordinator is well-trained and experienced. Therefore, in most cases, the site coordinator is able to attend to all day-to-day concerns that arise at the given site, without the assistance of the directors. Some sites may have an assistant site-coordinator, who shares the responsibilities of the site coordinator. Site coordinator duties, include:

~ensure the safety of all students at the site
~oversee the day-to-day operations of the site
~directly communicate with the directors/owners
~make on-site (and on-the-spot) schedule decisions, where applicable
~take on the role of teacher or assistant, when necessary
~monitor the follow-through of all staff duties and responsibilities
~receive messages concerning lateness and call-outs
~ensure materials/equipment are handled well and stored properly at the end of the service day
~issue consequences to students, including suspension
~recommend consequences and rewards for employees to be issued by the directors

Resource Teacher (Art, Drama, Dance, Music OR Costume Design) 

SUMMER: 12:00 pm to 4:30pm (most sites) or 10:00am to 4:30pm (Leith Walk only) -- Monday through Thursday; Maryland State Department of Education Certification preferred 

AFTERCARE: any block of time between 2:45pm and 6:30pm

Persons applying for this position must be willing to:

 ~deliver a variety of engaging instructional or enrichment sessions centered around the specified area in order to produce products or results for the closing production. For example:

~~~~~ART: construct props and set decorations

~~~~~DRAMA: audition, cast and assist with memorization for roles

~~~~~DANCE: choreograph dances 

~~~~~MUSIC: teach songs 

~~~~~COSTUME DESIGN: use imagination to create relative and memorable costumes 

~be prepared to work with students in grades preK to 8th

~brainstorm and contribute to the planning of the closing production

~develop and maintain procedures for field trips for groups of 20 or more students

~constantly take attendance during field trips to remain aware of the whereabouts of 20 or more students 

~monitor student interaction and develop procedures and rules to maintain positive social involvement

Academic Teacher

SUMMER: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (most sites) or 8:30am to 2:00pm (Leith Walk only) -- Monday through Thursday; Maryland State Department of Education certification required;

AFTERCARE: any block of time between 2:45pm and 6:30pm

Persons applying for this position must be willing to:

~plan effective lessons based on Common Core State Standards (ELA, Writing and Math) selected by the agency

~plan and deliver a variety of engaging instructional sessions

~provide academic interventions for diverse learners

~construct formal and informal assessments to measure student achievement

~provide tangible feedback to students and parents as evidence of student academic growth

Persons applying for this position during AFTERCARE will be required to assist with homework help, and may not be required to construct formal lessons and assessments. This position is listed a HOMEWORK COACH during AFTERCARE.

Front Desk Attendant and Food Service Assistant

 ~be prepared to work with students in grades preK to 8th

~collect various paper documents from parents and file in appropriate places (desk attendant)

~maintain related paperwork

~monitor receipt of meals by all children 

~monitor student interaction to maintain positive social involvement

Physical Education Teacher

SUMMER: 12:00 pm to 4:30pm (most sites) or 10:00am to 4:30pm (Leith Walk only) -- Monday through Thursday; Maryland State Department of Education Certification preferred 

AFTERCARE: any block of time between 2:45pm and 6:30pm

 ~be prepared to work with students in grades preK to 8th

~develop and maintain procedures for field trips for groups of 20 or more students

~monitor student interaction and develop procedures and rules to maintain positive social involvement

Additional Adult Assistant

SUMMER: Schedules vary between 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, 12:00 pm to 4:30pm, and 2:00pm to 6:00pm -- Monday through Thursday

AFTERCARE: any block of time between 6:30am and 8:30am AND/OR 2:45pm and 6:30pm

 ~assist the teacher in planning and delivering a variety of engaging instructional or enrichment sessions

~develop classroom management strategies to maintain positive behaviors in the classroom

~follow a schedule to transport students from classroom to classroom for resource classes

~constantly take attendance during field trips to remain aware of the whereabouts of 20 or more students 

~monitor student interaction and develop procedures and rules to maintain positive social involvement
